The Haiti Earthquake and How We Can Help

We've all now heard of the devastating earthquake that destroyed much of Port-au-Prince on January 12th. Many of us have personal ties to the event; one of my family members who is in Haiti on a missions trip has not been heard from since the earthquake. A High School friend and her husband got word that the son that they are adopting from Haiti and the other children at his orphanage were not harmed. Still another friend of a friend has not contacted his family since before the earthquake. It's easy to feel helpless in a situation like this, but there are many ways that we can assist. CNN has compiled a list of organizations that are providing many different types of assistance to Haiti. Click here to see how you can help.

  1. Hope you hear from your family member soon! World Vision is always my go to company to donate through. Can't imagine what the people in Haiti are going through right now. One of my friends is also in the country right now, but safe thankfully.
