One of the most time consuming aspects of becoming a frugal shopper is comparing prices at all of the different grocery stores. As someone who formerly shopped for what my family "needed" without regard to price, I had no idea what "good" prices looked like until I began to record prices on the basics in a small notebook that I keep in my purse. Although, effective, I realize that most of us don't have time to spend researching prices. Flyerside.com can help. I stumbled across this website this morning and I'm pretty sure I now believe in love at first site.
Here's what FlyerSide's home page has to say about the site and it's capabilities:
Welcome to the grand opening of FlyerSide!
•Compare local grocery prices. Sales in your weekly flyers are listed here and rated on a five-star scale by unit price. For instance, a bag of shrimp is compared with other shrimp sales to see how good it is per pound. The result is our rating: 5 stars is excellent, 2.5 is average, and 0 means wait for a better deal.
•Plan menus. We suggest recipes which combine many cheap sales. Some of this week's thrifty recipes are listed below.
•Help us grow. If your favorite store is missing, please tell us so we can add it.
We are not directly affiliated with the stores featured on our site and therefore do not guarantee the pricing and availability of their sales nor do we promote or discriminate against any stores.
Does that sound great, or what? I'm so excited about the potential for this site. Check it out and let me know what you think...
